The power of prayer! ALL the prayers worked! Chris's lab work looked good. His MRI perfect. As he tells it, the MRI did prove that, in fact, he does have a brain, ha! His PET scan showed no new growth, which is fabulous because this cancer is so aggressive. What the PET did show is increased activity (which explains the symptoms Chris has been having; increased shortness of breath).
What does this mean? The chemo is NOT working. So, what next? Here is God! There is a clinical trial that is specifically for Neuroendocrine thymic cancer and small cell lung cancer! This is rare that a trial comes along exactly for his cancer since it's so rare. And.... this trial is in the efficacy stage- so everyone gets the drug- no placebo! This study is showing 70% shrinkage!!! This is incredible news. We have been waiting for a formal word that he was approved and that word came today. Praise God! We feel like this is the right time and the right treatment!
The downfall? It requires weekly trips to Houston. We will know more of what that will entail and look like tomorrow. I will post more then. For now, I want to say THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE, SUPPORT AND PRAYERS! Love you all!!!
