Days 5/6/7

Hello... Sorry it has been a few days since we posted. In this instance; no news is good news! Chris is still doing very well. Fatigue continues to be his only real side effect. His skin was red on Friday, but that has subsided over the weekend. He did have some ringing in his ears Saturday, but that has gone away as well. One of the chemo medications Chris is receiving can impact his hearing so we will be watching that closely.

This weekend allowed for rest and relaxation. The house we are staying at sits on the first tee box of a golf course. We enjoy watching all the golfers as they tee off. We were able to spend time with family, also, which was really nice. It was a pretty low key weekend, just the way Chris likes. Chris received a special gift in the mail today and the smile on his face says it all! It was so fun to watch him open this special gift.

I will see week 1 was not without uniqueness. We fought electricity problems all week due to a storm that rolled through early in the week. Two mornings we woke up to no power. A power surge took the main television out, and I managed to break a refrigerator door bin. It was a week, but FILLED with blessings! I will take it!

Monday starts week 2. It is a radiation only week! He does have weekly appointments with Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology; so they are watching him closely. We meet with his medical oncologist, Dr. Negrao tomorrow. Then Tuesday we have his weekly see appointment with his radiation oncologist, Dr. Jeter. They are both so amazing! We are very blessed that he has the care team he does; they are the BEST! I can say the care that Chris has received has been top notch! Everyone is very friendly, helpful and happy!

Monday is a long day again just due to the timing of Chris's appts. We will leave the house at 8:15 a.m. and return around 9:00 p.m. We do have an appt break between 11 and 2:30 so we will head to Rice Village for some lunch and shopping!

Hope you all have a FABULOUS Monday and wonderful week!
